By Carlo Goldoni
Directed by David Gaines
A lowly servant tries to do the job of two men while working desperately to conceal that fact from both employers. A classic Italian comedy from the 18th century, this is a casual, comical, and colloquial rendition, with liberties taken, steeped in the Commedia dell’Arte tradition, with a zany plot featuring lost love, mistaken identity, and lots of mix-ups.
Under the direction of David Gaines, known by our audiences for his one-man versions of 7 (x 1 Samurai (based on The Seven Samurai) and his circus extravaganza A Little Business At the Big Top, Goldoni’s classic will be fast-paced, funny, and is sure to make a wonderful addition to our season.
